Dole Plantation, Waimea Falls, and a playdate at the Honolulu Zoo

It seems we have been very busy lately. Saturday I went to tea with my friends, Sunday we went to Haleiwa on north shore for some delicious thai food for Mother's Day, and on the way we stopped at Dole Plantation. Monday I went on a hike with Sofia to Waimea Falls, and Tuesday we went to the Honolulu Zoo. This morning we had a crazy playdate at a friend's house, there were about ten children there. I'm really tired!
Here are a few picures from the last few days, namely Dole Plantation, the hike, and the zoo (which, really, doesn't at all compare to San Diego, but we're working with what we have!). The flower is a heliconia, it feels like felt and is really big and beautiful.

My kid's crazy.

I took Sofia to Ko'olina yesterday, and everytime I take her to the beach I'm reminded what a teeny wahine she is. She loves the beach! I have a feeling I'm going to be making a lot of trips to the coast once we're back in California. I have no idea what she'll do once the cooler weather arrives, or (gasp!) when she feels how cold the water is, even in summertime. Aaahhh, poor Sofia. My little island girl is going to have to adjust to "cold" California.
She played in the sand for a little bit with her playmate Leif, but after a while took off for the water, and it's like pulling teeth trying to get her out. She was throwing herself into the water (a la belly flop) and she's practicing her "swimming." She lies down on her tummy and kicks her feet and splashes around, but since she's actually lying in the sand, she doesn't move or get her face in the water. She giggled the whole time and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Aloha!!

Tomo's Birthday and Bookclub

Here are some pictures from Tomo's birthday party, he turned 4 last week. Happy Birthday Tomo!! Sofia thought it was absolutely hilarious that we were singing to the dog, and Talyon, as expected, was horrified. Even though the blinds were closed, he was still looking around to make sure nobody could see him. :)
I also put up a picture from my bookclub, it's me and my friends Jenn, Erin, Mary and Amanda.
