Yesterday's trip to the Byodo-In Temple

Sofia had a lot of fun feeding the fish and walking around, and Jim and I were glad we finally made it to see this beautiful place. There's a huge Buddha inside the temple, and one gal was even doing her yoga there. If you recognize the place, it was used in an episode of "Lost" as the home of Sun's wealthy father.

When bad things happen to good kids

I had to go to a tupperware party last night, so Jim took Sofia for a bike ride. Check out the outfit he put her in, complete with purple knee socks, hot pink pirate shoes, lime green pants, and a pink striped shirt. Awesome.

Waikiki Weekend

On Saturday we went to Waikiki to spend some time at the Hale Koa, an all military resort. It's great, it's just like all the other hotels except everything is half the price and you can get into the pool even if you aren't a registered guest- you just need your military ID. It's right on the beach, too, so going from pool to sand is a breeze! I would've taken some pictures of Sofia swimming, but she kept trying to splash me. She certainly enjoyed herself, especially her shaved ice (they don't call them snow cones here) that Daddy bought for her.

We're really going to miss days like this, but I know that afternoons at Nana's pool and hikes at Grandpa's house will be so much fun! And ROADTRIPS. You don't realize how much you miss roadtrips until you live on an island. It takes a whole two hours to get around this rock. Big whoop. :)

She loves her cookies

Sofia went with us to a party today, and helped herself to the plate of cookies...

Rainbows

We went out for a walk this morning, and this is what we saw out the back door. I've said it before and I'll say it again... the rainbows are what I will miss the most.

picnic on the beach

Tonight we went to Ko'olina for a bike ride and picnic dinner. Talyon was at a friend's house for a birthday party, so it was just me, Jim and Sofia. Sofia was in a great mood, and we had a fabulous time. It's so beautiful there, and I love taking advantage of the fact that it's so close to home! Sofia even fell asleep on the way home and stayed asleep when we put her in bed. :) Enjoy the pictures!!

The First Blog

My first blog entry. I should've started this when we first moved to Hawaii, but hey, better late than never.

We bought a house in Fallbrook, CA, in the same neighborhood as Cassie. We're really excited about coming back, we should be flying in to San Diego on or around July 15. Talyon and Jayden will then spend the rest of the summer in Austin, TX and Talyon will return at the end of August, just in time for his sister's second birthday party.

When we do get back, Jim will immediately start work at Edson Range, Camp Pendleton, as the Chief Range Officer, which I know he is looking forward to. I, on the other hand, will be busy picking out curtains for the new house. :)

More to come soon... check back!

Aloha,

Tish
